Apple - iPod Classic 6th Generation (80 GB) MP3 Player —
I recieved the iPod Classic 80 gigabite model as a gift. It seems quite sturdy, and the interface is okay. The positives are the look (it's really sharp) and the portability. As a bit of an audiophile, I have to complain about the lack of support for flac files. Flac files are lossless, and the iPod only plays the Apple Lossless files, which are quite weak in comparison to flac's, as you cannot guarantee the accuracy of your rip. In addition to the lack of support for flac files, the headphones that come with it are very poor. I would guess you can buy comparable headphones for about $10. If you truly want to get superb audio playback, you'll need to install Rockbox firmware instead of the Apple firmware and also upgrade your headphones.
