AT&T posed the question on its Google+ page, asking users to show support for the idea of thecarrier picking-up the handset by +1ing the post. As Google+ users did so, AT&T followed-up the post with a note explaining that "several times we have used what we learn in social media to make business decisions".
Four hours after the original post, it had received 866 +1s. AT&T has since locked the thread, noting "yourvoices were heard and we will share it internally". That opportunity may have passed, but if you're really excited about this possibility, it's worth a shot to turn to the likes of Facebook and Twitter to continue to let the company know.
Samsung's Galaxy Nexus is definitely going to be available on Verizon in the States. All parties involved are holding their release-date-cards quite close to the chest, but sooner or later, Verizon will get the phone. Beyond that, though, there are still a lot of open possibilities for the premiere IceCream Sandwich smartphone in the US. Will other carriers start selling the handset at a future date? Could another start offering the LTE version of the phone, or might we also see the HSPA+ model arrive? AT&T, for one, is soliciting comments from smartphone users, supposedly to help it decide about its plans for the Galaxy Nexus.
